How to View Google Photos on Google TV
Even though Google Photos is not available as a standalone app for Chromecast with Google TV, you can view them in two different ways:
- By sideloading the apk version of Google Photos
- By casting Google Photos from Android and iPhone
Sideloading Google Photos By Using Downloader App
Sideloading: Install Downloader > allow permission to install apps through Downloader > Install Google Photos apk > launch the app > log in your Google Account.
[1] Turn on your Google TV and connect it to a WiFi connection.
[2] Click the Search option on the home screen.

[3] Type Downloader in the search bar and search for it.

[4] Select the Downloader app from the search results.
[5] Click the Install menu.

[6] After installation, go back to the main menu and allow permission to install the app through Downloader.
[7] Open the Settings menu and click Device Preferences.
[8] Tap on Security & Restrictions and select Unknown Sources.
[9] Click the Downloader and enable the feature.

[10] Once done, launch the Downloader on Google TV and select Allow in the prompt.
[11] Click on home and enter the Google Photos apk. Click the GO button.

[12] After downloading it, click Install to install the app.
[13] Launch the Google Photos app and log in with your Google account.
[14] You can view all your Google Photos and videos on the bigger screen.
Cast Google Photos from Android/iPhone
Casting: Open the Google Photos app > Click the Cast icon > Select your device > Play a video or photo.
[1] Turn on your TV and connect your Chromecast with Google TV to it.
[2] Connect the Android Smartphone/iPhone and Google TV to the same WiFi network.
[3] Install and launch the Google Photos app on your smartphone from the respective Play Store or App Store.
[4] Click the Cast icon on the top right corner of the app screen.
[5] Select your Google TV device from the list of nearby devices.
[6] Now, play the photo or video you want and view them on your TV.
