Apple TV app is the media hub for Apple users to rent or purchase their desired movies or TV shows. It also plays the contents from your library, iTunes, streaming services, and Apple TV+. Along with Apple devices, the Apple TV application is available on various devices, including the newly launched Chromecast with Google TV device.
Apple TV was not available on Google TV when the device was launched. But later, it was released on February 18, 2021. You can install the app officially from the TV store.
How to Watch Apple TV on Chromecast with Google TV
Step 1 – Connect your Google TV to your TV’s HDMI port and go to the Apps section on the home screen.
Step 2 – Hit the Search for Apps section and use the on-screen keyboard to search for Apple TV.
Step 3 – Select the Apple TV app from the list that appeared on the screen.
Step 4 – Tap the Install button on its information screen.
Step 5 – After installing it, hit the Open menu to launch the app.
Step 6 – Tap Start Watching on the Apple TV home screen.
Step 7 – Go to the Settings icon on the top-right corner and then choose it.
Step 8 – Select the Accounts menu.
Step 9 – Click the Sign In menu on the next screen.
Step 10 – Now, Apple TV will provide you three different options.
- Sign In on Mobile Device – Use your iPhone to activate the app by scanning the displayed QR code.
- Sign In on This TV – Enter your Apple ID credentials to activate directly.
- Create Apple ID – Create a new Apple ID by providing the necessary credentials.
Now, you can stream all the Apple TV content by either renting or purchasing it. If you have purchased Apple TV plus, you can also stream additional content and channels on your Google TV.
Note – Since the Apple TV app doesn’t have built-in Chromecast support, you can’t cast Apple TV from your smartphone to Google TV. Instead, you can mirror your smartphone or PC screen and then cast the contents to your Google TV. Alternatively, you can also sideload the app on Google TV.
