How to Install and Activate Hotstar on Samsung Smart TV
1. Turn on your Samsung TV and connect it to a standard WiFi connection.
2. Press the SmatHub button on your Samsung TV remote and select the Apps tile on the Home screen.
3. Select the Search icon and search for the Hotstar app.
4. Select the app and tap the Install button.
5. Within a few seconds, the app will finish its installation process on your TV.
6. Launch the app and select My Account in the menu. Or select and play premium content.
7. An activation link and the code will appear on the screen. Visit the activation link (https://www.hotstar.com/activate) using a browser on your smartphone or PC.
8. Log in to your Hotstar account and enter the activation code displayed on the TV.
9. Tap on Continue to complete the activation process.
After activating the app with your account, you can stream the Hotstar content on your TV.
How to Watch Hotstar on Samsung TV Using Internet Browser
1. Go to the Samsung TV home screen and tap the Internet tile in the apps list.
2. Enter https://www.hotstar.com in the address bar and visit its website.
3. Tap the Profile icon, click Log In, and sign in to your account.
4. Once logged in, play any TV show or movie and watch it on your Samsung TV.
Cast or AirPlay Hotstar on Samsung Smart TV
You can cast Hotstar on your TV if it has Chromecast built-in. If it doesn’t support casting, plug a Chromecast dongle into the TV’s HDMI port and configure it. If you have a Samsung TV released in 2018 and later, turn on AirPlay on your Samsung TV to stream Hotstar content using an iPhone/iPad.
1. Connect your Samsung Smart TV to WiFi, which should be the same as your smartphone.
2. Install the Hotstar application on your phone by visiting the Play Store or App Store.
3. Run the Hotstar application and sign in with your account.

If the Hotstar app fails to work on your Samsung TV, follow these workarounds to rectify the issue.
- Hotstar requires an internet speed of 8 Mbps for HD streaming and 25 Mbps for 4K streaming. If the internet connection is unstable, restart the WiFi router or contact the ISP to upgrade the plan.
- Check if your Hotstar subscription plan is active.
- Update the Samsung TV and the app to the latest version.
- Log out of the Hotstar app and log in again.
